Born inside a 250 gallon copper pot still, High West's Son of Bourye is a marriage of "bou", or bourbon, and "rye", or ... well, rye. Using a secret ratio of five-year old bourbon (75% corn, 20% rye and 5% barley malt) and five-year old rye (95% rye and 5% barley malt), Brendan Coyle, High West Distillery's master distiller, hasn't just created a new type of whiskey he's created a new type of experience. Utah's first distillery since Reconstruction, High West is located in Park City and is the world's only ski-in distillery and gastro-saloon. Although Utah is the country's most notoriously teetotaling state, High West is the only distillery in the world producing these bourbon and rye mixes, but expect imitators soon.
