Size: 750ML
Proof: 80 (40% ABV)
Origin: Scotland
Distillery: Johnnie Walker Distillers
Handcrafted in small batches, using just 1 in 10,000 casks from our unparalleled reserves of maturing whisky, Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a rich and velvety smooth scotch with rolling waves of flavor and exceptional depth of character. Its remarkable richness comes from carefully selected whiskies from long-closed ghost distilleries, such as Cambus, Brora and Port Ellen, perfectly balanced with vibrant whiskies sourced from the four corners of Scotland to create a scotch with surging waves of fruit, spice and a warm, lingering smokiness.
Nose: Aroma of smoke, tobacco and peat with a slight sweetness, almost fruity, that is quite enjoyable.
Palate: On tasting you get a good shot of smoke with a little astringency and some good warmth in the mouth. The scotch clings to your tongue and the peatiness comes out with hints of bitterness, like bittersweet chocolate.
Finish: A warm, lingering smokiness.
In 1857, Alexander Walker Johnnie Walker's eldest son inherited the store and began improving its selection of single malt Scotch whiskies. In addition, Alexander had apprenticed with a tea merchant in Glasgow and there, had learned the art of blending tea. Under his stewardship, the House of Walker began blending whisky and bottling it in an iconic, square bottle adorned with a slanted label.
